Governance Structure

Members

Members are the guardians of the Trust’s governance and ensure that it remains true to its charitable purpose and objectives. They have a limited but important role in overseeing the effectiveness of the Trust’s governance arrangements, including appointing and, where appropriate, removing Trustees and making decisions on changes to the Trust’s Articles of Association. Members are not involved in the day-to-day running of the Trust or its schools.

Trustees

Trustees are the accountable body for the performance of all schools within the Trust and, as such, must ensure clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction; hold the executive to account for the educational performance of the schools and their students, and the performance management of staff; and oversee the financial performance of the Trust, ensuring that its money is well spent.

Executive Leadership

The Executive Leadership Team is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the Trust and its schools. Working within the direction and framework set by the Board of Trustees, the team leads the delivery of the Trust’s vision and strategy, drives educational improvement and organisational effectiveness, and ensures the effective management of people, finance and resources.

The Executive Leadership Team is accountable to the Board of Trustees for the Trust’s performance and provides Trustees with the information, advice and assurance they need to fulfil their governance responsibilities. The team also supports collaboration across the Trust, ensuring that its schools benefit from shared expertise, resources and best practice.
